How we choose: we took the surf schools and camps Google Maps returned for our search within about 25 km of Weligama, kept those rated 4.4 or higher with at least 40 reviews and still open, one branch per brand, and ordered them by a review-weighted score. Weligama bay has a sandy bottom and small waves, which is why so many schools sit on the bypass road beside it. Prices and details come from each venue's own website, checked in October 2026; we have not visited these places. No venue paid to be listed.
