The most complete published price matrix in Bali diving, and the reason it wins: one dive in Padangbai 900,000, two 1,400,000, the Jetty 1,450,000, Tulamben shore 1,600,000 and jukung 1,800,000, Seraya 1,650,000, Amed 1,785,000 shore and 1,950,000 by jukung, Nusa Penida north 1,800,000, Crystal Bay 1,900,000 and Manta Point 2,200,000 for two dives or 2,700,000 for three. That Manta Point number is the cheapest we verified anywhere, against 2,400,000 at OK Divers and 2,500,000 at Bali Aqua. Prices include site fees, taxes, lunch, drinks and a guide at a maximum of four divers each, and the Open Water course is 6,200,000 for three days. Being based in Padangbai rather than the south also means shorter boat rides to the eastern sites.

Full price list by dive site, published and current Cheapest verified Manta Point trip at 2,200,000 for two dives Site fees, taxes, lunch and drinks all included Guide ratio published: four divers maximum Padangbai base means a 1.5 to 2 hour transfer from the south No star rating we could source with a review count, so "n/a"

Not for anyone staying in the south who refuses a 1.5 to 2 hour transfer; the base is Padangbai

The cheapest verified diving on the island, and it is not a cut-price version of the same day: the USAT Liberty wreck at Tulamben starts in the shallows a short walk from the beach, so there is no boat to pay for. One dive 550,000, two 990,000, three 1,320,000, four 1,540,000, five 1,925,000, with a night dive adding 550,000. Equipment rental and course materials are included and the Open Water course is 6,900,000, discounted from a listed 8,500,000. The trade-off is location: this is a village operation five to six hours of round-trip driving from Canggu or Seminyak, so it makes sense as an overnight in Tulamben rather than a day out.

990,000 for two dives, the lowest published rate we verified Equipment rental included in the dive price Shore access to the Liberty wreck, no boat surcharge Far north-east: realistically an overnight, not a day trip Transport to some sites is charged separately Bookings run through WhatsApp rather than a booking system

Not for anyone planning a day trip from the west coast; Tulamben needs an overnight stay

The best maths for anyone diving more than twice. Two dives a day are 1,250,000, three a day 1,700,000, five dives over two days 2,800,000, ten dives over four days 5,500,000, and past eleven dives the rate drops to 520,000 each, against roughly 700,000 a dive on a two-dive day here and 900,000 to 945,000 for a single dive at Geko or Legend. A night dive is 800,000 alone or 200,000 added to a package, and three dives at Manta Point, Crystal Bay or Lembongan are quoted at 210 USD per person. Amed and Tulamben prices include equipment, towel, water, coffee and fruit between dives. Read the boat clause: boat dives need a minimum of two divers and carry a 150,000 to 250,000 surcharge per person.

Multi-day rates published: 520,000 per dive past eleven dives Three bases across Amed and Tulamben, no long transfers between sites Gear, towel and drinks included on the eastern sites Boat surcharge of 150,000 to 250,000 on top for boat dives Manta Point priced in USD, so the rupiah cost moves with the rate Minimum two divers for boat trips, awkward for solo travellers

The only shop in this ten that publishes the honest gatekeeping alongside the price: each site is listed with the certification it requires and the minimum number of divers needed to run it. Padangbai 1,450,000 for two dives from a single Open Water diver; the Jetty macro dive 1,500,000 from two; Gili Mimpang and Tepekong 1,750,000 but Advanced Open Water and three divers minimum; Gili Biaha 1,850,000 on the same terms; Tulamben wreck 1,650,000; Amed 1,850,000; Nusa Penida Manta Point 2,400,000 and Crystal, Gamat or Toyapakeh 1,950,000, both needing four divers. Nitrox is free for certified divers and lunch is at their own restaurant. One thing to budget: these prices exclude equipment, which is 250,000 a day.

The straightforward southern option: pickup from Sanur and the main resort areas, a 5 Star centre in Sanur and an instructor development centre on Nusa Penida. Two dives at Tulamben on the Liberty are 1,850,000, Padang Bai's Blue Lagoon 1,950,000, Nusa Penida with Manta Point 2,500,000 for two dives or 2,900,000 for three. Full equipment, guide, transport from Sanur, marine park fees and lunch are all in the price, which is the cleanest inclusion list here. Beginners: Discover Scuba is 2,150,000 at Tulamben or Padang Bai and 2,800,000 at Nusa Penida, and the course ladder runs 5,300,000 for Scuba Diver, 7,200,000 for Open Water and 6,100,000 for Advanced.

The transparency here is in the surcharge. Most operators quietly build the cost of the long run to Manta Point into a higher headline number; Legend publishes a 150,000 per person supplement for the distant sites and leaves the base rates alone. A day trip including ferry and transport is 2,230,000 for two dives, three dives in a day 2,500,000, a single dive 945,000, a night dive 1,150,000, and a six-to-eight dive package works out at 850,000 a dive. The course list runs from Bubble Maker at 1,100,000 through Open Water at 6,800,000 to Divemaster at 18,900,000, and there are conservation programmes from 2,000,000 for a day and a half, which is unusual on this island.

Distance surcharge published rather than hidden in the base price 850,000 per dive on a six to eight dive package Conservation programmes and internships priced openly A single dive at 945,000 is poor value against the packages Ferry logistics still sit on your side of the booking Long price list is easy to misread: check which sites carry the surcharge

Not for divers who only want one dive; 945,000 for a single makes the packages the better deal

The professional route rather than the cheap one. This is a Career Development Centre, which means the ladder does not stop at Advanced: Open Water is published in three package tiers from 7,000,000 to 11,000,000, Advanced 6,000,000 to 10,000,000, Rescue 8,000,000, Divemaster 32,000,000 to 55,000,000 and instructor training 25,000,000 to 50,000,000. Fun dives are the most expensive in this ten - Tulamben and Padang Bai 2,500,000 for two, Amed and Candi Dasa 2,700,000, Nusa Penida with Manta 3,500,000 for three, Menjangan Wall 3,700,000 for two - and an extra dive is 600,000. If your goal is a certification you will use for years, the thirty-year track record is the argument; if it is two dives on a Tuesday, the shops above cost less.

The one to book if the group is split between divers and non-divers, because it publishes snorkelling next to diving instead of treating it as an afterthought: Nusa Penida snorkelling with three stops is 1,900,000 and Padang Bai two stops 1,500,000. Diving runs Nusa Penida three dives 2,970,000, Padang Bai two dives 2,090,000, Candidasa three dives 2,970,000, a Menjangan special 3,630,000 and an eight-dive, three-day combo 7,590,000. Boat, full kit, light breakfast and lunch, guide, hotel or airport pickup and underwater photos are included. The rest of the matrix is complete too: Padang Bai 2,150,000, Tulamben 2,050,000 from shore or 2,450,000 by boat, Amed 2,250,000, Candidasa 2,500,000, Nusa Penida or Lembongan three dives 3,450,000, and a two-day, one-night Menjangan trip with three dives at 4,950,000. Frequently asked

How much does diving in Bali cost in 2026?

Two guided dives run from 990,000 to 3,700,000 IDR depending on the site and the shop. The verified floor is Tulamben Scuba at 990,000 for two shore dives. Mid-range: Bali Reef Divers 1,250,000 a day, Geko Dive 1,400,000 in Padangbai, OK Divers 1,450,000, Tulamben through a southern shop 1,850,000 to 2,050,000. Nusa Penida with Manta Point: 2,200,000 at Geko, 2,400,000 at OK Divers, 2,500,000 at Bali Aqua, 3,500,000 for three dives at Crystal Divers. The ceiling is Menjangan Wall at 3,700,000 for two dives. A PADI Open Water course is 6,200,000 to 7,850,000 across the shops we checked.

Why is Nusa Penida more expensive than Tulamben?

Boat logistics. Penida sites need a fast boat and a longer run, and Manta Point is the furthest of them, which is why Legend Diving charges a stated 150,000 supplement for distant sites and Geko's Manta trip costs 800,000 more than its Padangbai day. There is also an entrance fee: 100,000 for foreigners and 10,000 for Indonesians, which Scuba Go publishes and most operators do not include. Tulamben, by contrast, is a beach entry with no boat at all.

Do I need a certification for Manta Point or Tepekong?

OK Divers publishes this per site and it is the clearest answer available: Padangbai, Tulamben, Amed and Manta Point accept Open Water divers; Gili Mimpang, Tepekong, Gili Biaha, Kubu, Crystal Bay, Gamat, Toyapakeh, Blue Corner and Gili Selang require Advanced Open Water. Several Nusa Penida sites also need a minimum of four divers to run at all. Currents on the Penida channel sites are strong, and Discover Scuba beginners are limited to sheltered sites.

When can you see mantas and mola mola?

Manta rays are at Manta Point year-round. Mola mola, the oceanic sunfish, appear mainly from July to October, and those dives are deep and current-heavy rather than a beginner outing. If the mola mola is the reason for the trip, book the season and accept that no operator can promise the animal.

Are Bali dive prices all-inclusive?

Not uniformly, and this is where two similar quotes stop being similar. Geko Dive, Bali Aqua, Pure Dive Resort, Bali FUN Diving and Scuba Go include equipment, guide, lunch and transfers, and Bali Aqua includes marine park fees. OK Divers excludes equipment and charges 250,000 a day for it. Bali Reef Divers adds 150,000 to 250,000 per person for boat dives. The Nusa Penida entrance fee of 100,000 is usually extra. Ask which of those four things - gear, park fees, entrance fee, boat surcharge - is inside the number you were quoted.

How long should I wait to fly after diving?

The widely used guideline is a minimum of twelve hours after a single dive and eighteen hours after repetitive or multi-day diving, and dive operators here plan the last day of a package around it. In practice that means no diving on the day before an evening flight out of Denpasar, and it is also the reason we would not put a sauna or hot recovery session between your last dive and the airport. Confirm the interval with the operator, since some conservative shops ask for twenty-four hours.

Is this diving ranking sponsored?

No. No dive centre can buy a place and we take no commission on bookings. Every price here comes from the operator's own published price page, quoted with the site and the number of dives; where only a third party publishes a figure, the operator sits in the notes rather than the ranking. Star ratings are marked "n/a" because we could not source a rating together with a review count for these shops, and we do not invent either.
