How long can you stay in Bali?
If you stay the full 60 days: monthly prices from our rankings
A second month changes the math at the venues we rank, because most sell monthly passes that beat day tickets after about a week:
- Gyms: month from 400k (Pucuk Bali Gym, Batu Bolong) and 700k (Bali Fitness Seminyak) to 1.2-1.85m (Ubud.Fitness) and 2.0-2.35m (Bambu, Bingin); Titi Batu in Ubud 1.46m. Day passes at the same gyms are 50k-310k, so a month pays off from the sixth or seventh visit.
- Yoga: drop-ins 120k-185k; every big studio sells 10-class and monthly cards at a discount, ask at the desk.
- Coworking: our Canggu coworking guide lists 5 spaces; monthly desks are the norm there, day passes the exception.
Visa extension at 500k plus a month of gym and a coworking desk is still below what one week of day passes and cafe tables costs, which is why the 60-day stay is the one most people on this coast actually do.

The VOA, done the smart way
Apply online as an e-VOA at the official immigration portal up to two weeks before flying and you walk past the airport visa queue (bali.com). Same price, same 30 days. Add Bali's separate one-time tourism levy of 150,000 IDR, paid online or on arrival. Overstaying costs 1,000,000 IDR per day and is not a grey area worth testing.
The extension changed - plan for it
The VOA extends once, for 30 more days, but since mid-2025 extensions require an in-person biometric visit - fingerprints, photo, sometimes a short interview - at an immigration office, so the old fully-online extension is gone (Emerhub). Agents can handle paperwork but not your biometrics. Start the process at least a week before day 30, or budget for a visa agent to manage the timing.
Longer than 60 days
Options step up in commitment: single-entry visit visas in the 60-180 day class, the D12 pre-investment visa, the remote-worker route, or the social-cultural visa with an Indonesian sponsor. Requirements and names get reshuffled often enough that we will not pretend a static page can stay accurate - check evisa.imigrasi.go.id or a reputable agent for the current menu. What we can say from Canggu: plenty of people live here in 60-day rhythms with visa runs, and immigration enforcement on overstays is real.
